About the Food Pantry

The Birchwood Area Food Pantry helps our community by providing life sustaining food to any and all area residents who come to us for help.  The only qualification is a need for food.

Starting Sept. of 2022, the Pantry is open for distribution 1st and 3rd Mondays.  Hours will be the same for all 2 days.  Pantry hours for Monday will be 10:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M.   We also make home deliveries to those unable to come to the pantry on these Mondays.  Further, we will provide food on an emergency basis at any time by calling 612-247-4591.

Over the last ten years, we have we have seen our food distribution more than triple.  In 2009, we disbursed a total of 43,400 pounds of food.  By the end of 2013, our poundage has increased to 103,000 pounds, and in 2019, the number reached 154,000 pounds.  Likewise, the number of families we serve has soared to over 150 each month, representing in the neighborhood of 350 men, women and children.  We continue to grow each month as the need continues to rise.  These statistics clearly show that over the past ten years, more and more individuals and families are seeking our services as a resource to provide meals for their families.
